Description

The Stewart Computational Group at the Morgridge Institute for Research seeks a Computational Biologist with strong statistical and programming skills. We provide data analysis, programming, and software engineering to biomedical researchers at the Morgridge Institute, the University of Wisconsin, and beyond, working on a wide variety of biomedical questions, including cancer and regenerative biology. We work with multiple high-throughput biological data types, including genomics, transcriptomics, metabolomics, and text.  Major aspects of this position involve statistical analysis, software engineering, and development of improved methods for high-throughput biological data analyses. The position requires working on complex projects in an independent and self-directed manner. As the successful applicant will have significant autonomy to drive new research in a large scientific space, professionalism and exceptionally strong interpersonal collaborative skills are needed.

Requirements

Candidate Requirements:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Biological Sciences or a related discipline with coursework or background in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Genetics, Molecular Biology or Cell Biology.

Preferred Requirements:
