This is a fantastic opportunity to join an enthusiastic team working with leading universities and Plc’s, in the delivery of high profile innovative projects which include the establishment of a UK wide vision of innovative Water and Flood Management. This is a key role of a modeller at InTouch Ltd, with the responsibility for the creation and integration of robust, self-learning, optimisation and predictive data models, for a number of projects using packages such as R/ MATLAB/ C or similar. The work will include aspects of data manipulation, feature type assessment, evaluation and the development and testing of predictive and optimisation models, and the overall integration support into other business and management processes. These models are vital in supporting the management of assets across the UK, and with the establishment of self-learning systems will be supporting the delivery of a number of innovative and high profile projects. The successful candidate is likely to be highly proactive seeking to implement innovative and ground-breaking solutions, and will work as part of a wider software development and solutions team, with the opportunity to contribute to application and systems design. This ensuring that new systems are scalable, secure, robust and supportable. The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with a wide range of both technical and non-technical in-house and external staff and become embedded within a highly skilled team.
The Initial Project: You will have access to a wide variety of data via sources including an Internet of Things (IoT) Transport Hub, with three main initial project deliverables:
Clustering of Asset Sensor locations – Generate a self-evolving model capable of identifying a asset patterns of life to determine the number of required sensors for monitoring UK wide status’, operation and location placements and durations, taking a managed risk approach for evaluating sensor volume requirements.
Automated Operational Maintenance regimes – Generate a self-evolving model capable of predicting operational maintenance regimes for assets in order to effectively manage and reduce breakdown events based on factors including; asset history, type, live sensor data, geographic location, environmental factors and asset clustering.
Contaminant Management – Generate a self-evolving model capable of predicting operational maintenance regimes for assets in order to reduce toxin impacts upon the environment using various live and historic data sources.
Requirements:
- Knowledge, experience and proficiency in one or more modelling tools such as R/ MATLAB/ C, mathematica or similar.
- Knowledge of approaches and techniques in machine learning and evolving systems.
- BSc, MSc or PhD in Computer science, Operational research or Computing Engineering or similar, or equivalent commercial experience.
- Capable of operating with a high degree of autonomy to use data to identify trends and suggest improvements.
- Attention to detail and must be able to work within strict deadlines within a challenging environment, both within teams and alone when required.
- Natural curiosity directed at digging into, assessing, and presenting data.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Eligible to work in the UK.
