Job Description

The NAO helps the nation spend wisely, and we want your help to do that.

As a Data Science Analyst at the NAO you will use a range of tools and techniques to deliver process efficiencies and improvements to our outputs.

Working within the Data Analytics team, you will help us to develop data analytics led solutions for our audit work and contribute to the continuing development of this capability. Recent advances have included the use of webscraping to deepen the extent of our analysis and greater use of data visualisation in the development and presentation of our work.

Essential requirements for this role include:

  • Strong academic qualification(s) in a numerate subject (preferably to Masters level)
  • Intellectual curiosity and logic, especially using data and evidence to answer questions.
  • Experience in writing code in software/languages such as ‘R’, Visual Basic, Python, SQL.
  • Experience of working with large datasets
