Boston Heart Diagnostics is re-inventing the role of diagnostics in cardiovascular disease (CVD), the number one cause of death in the United States. We help people make meaningful and lasting change through the use of easy-to-understand reports, one-on-one coaching, and sustained support. We are currently seeking a data scientist to work in our Clinical Analytics group. The person in this role will carry out statistical analyses to support quality assurance in the laboratory, analyze data for both internal and external purposes, including generating data for publishable studies demonstrating clinical outcomes for testing.
Job Functions & Responsibilities:
• Assist with study design, power calculations and other required to design an optimal plan. Identify requirements of software and computer support needed to carry out the projects
• Analyze anonymized patient records and lab data to determine associations between biomarker measurements and patient outcomes using appropriate statistical methods
• Analyze current database structure and work with clinical affairs, laboratory operations and R&D teams to design study methodologies utilizing BHD lab information system.
• Utilize computational and statistical methods to determine associations, trends and other relevant data, including but not limited to longitudinal patient data, associations between specific biomarkers and population analyses.
• Prepare data analysis and graphical representations of findings
• Write papers for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
Required Skills & Experience
• Master’s degree or advanced study in statistics, bioinformatics, applied mathematics, or related field
• Strong advanced statistical skills, with emphasis on ANOVA
• Experience in study design suitable for publication
• Ability to analyze large scale data sets
• Proficiency in at least one statistical software environment; high proficiency in R preferred
• Experience with Linux, LaTeX, HTML, XSLT, and python, preferred
