Would you like to contribute towards an exciting research programme spanning public health, epidemiology, economic analysis and simulation modelling? Are you looking to expand your portfolio and contribute towards supporting a team in further developing and extending the IMPACT NCD health modelling approach here at the Department of Public Health, Policy & Systems at the University of Liverpool? We want someone who can focus on extending and improving the implementation of the simulation tool used within our department. If this excites and motivates you, then please read on. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a flair for writing data-analytic algorithms, software programming and development, and also welcome applications from candidates with non-health backgrounds or experience with health data (if the applicant can show a good fit with the project compared to people without experience in the field). Experience in the field of health data and problems will be an advantage, however.
It is essential that you can demonstrate a proactive attitude to engage with the project, and proof of software developing experience will be an important consideration for the panel. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your career in health data science innovative applications, and gain experience on health simulation methods as member of a world leading health simulation team. We will also encourage applicants to inspect the code repository for our models (https://github.com/ChristK/IMPACTncd_Liverpool [github.com]) and submit an example of your code with your application. This post is fixed-term, starting in April 2022 and ending no later than 30 May 2025.
