The company requires a current graduate student in Statistics or related field to work with our advanced analytics group.
This position will begin in January, 2019 and continue through August, 2019. The intern is expected to work 15-20 hours per week while school is in session and 20-40 hours per week during summer. After, Inc. may hire students directly or as a research assistant through a university; the latter is generally preferred for international students. Candidates may work onsite or remotely. - Current graduate student working towards a Masters or PhD in Statistics, Computer Science, Applied Math, Econometrics or related field.
- R programming experience and ability to use statistical, reporting and database packages to deal with various analytical and data processing tasks
- Expertise with R Shiny using both out-of-the-box features and extensions, such as htmlwidgets, shinyjs, and shinydashboard
- Knowledge of front-end web development languages and frameworks, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, d3.js, etc.
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to leverage various open-source technologies
Role and Responsibilities
The R Shiny Developer Intern will report to a Manager or Director of Analytics and will have a number of important responsibilities, including:
- Develop client reports with R Shiny and other tools
- Create reporting templates
- Research new Shiny features and document best practices
