We are looking for an engineering / math / stats / or other applied science student to work in a cardiac surgery research laboratory with the focus on organ replacement (transplant and partial / total artificial heart). The current focus of the lab is analyzing large data from databases and pooled data from published literature primarily to study outcomes and complications of above therapies for end-stage heart failure. This multidisciplinary team is going to publish several papers a year and would boost the academic portfolio of the selected candidate.
This is a volunteer position and no salary is provided, however visa sponsorship can be considered. Access to the lab will be provided that will include dedicated desk space likely with a dedicated work PC. Willingness to work with the team members who belong to other specialties (primarily MDs) and proficiency in R Programming Language are the only two requirements.
