About the role

As the first marketing hire in Brazil, this is a global role that exists to maximize the global impact we have with our thought leadership, research reports, presentations, whitepapers, webinars as well as interactions with members of the press. With access to the industry’s only global audience demand dataset you will be in a unique position to produce the world’s most comprehensive TV, talent and movie analyses possible.

Working within a dynamic and high-performance marketing team, your hands-on technical knowledge of SQL, Python and/or R will supercharge the output of our marketing analysts, strategists and press specialists.

Reporting directly to the VP Marketing, your task will be to extract data quickly from our global demand data warehouse, contextualize the findings with your industry knowledge and then empower the rest of the marketing team to communicate your findings with speed and accuracy.

You will be working closely with marketing insights, press and strategy team members based in Los Angeles, New York and Auckland (New Zealand), to provide data extracts, analyses and insights that create value for journalists and the industry at large.

Requirements

Technical expertise:

  • Ability to query and analyze data using R.
  • SQL, Python knowledge would also be useful.
  • You will be the technical data lead within the Parrot Analytics marketing team.
  • Determine data required and available for analysis, identifying gaps or caveats that could impact the deliverable.
  • Develop and maintain a repository for standardized insights solutions and analysis techniques.
  • Lead backend data initiatives to maximize marketing insights outputs. e.g. data standardization.
  • You will be leading marketing insights R&D to continue to develop new visualizations that create market impact.

Industry knowledge:

  • In-depth knowledge of the TV industry with 4-5 years research or data analyst experience in television, film or entertainment.
  • Create excitement in the industry through the planning, research and delivery of whitepapers, in-depth reports, thought leadership articles and blog posts.
  • Researching and documenting industry trends, industry driving forces and major changes to guide your thought leadership approach.
  • Developing insightful thought leadership articles, social media updates, videos, webinars, presentations, whitepapers and data visualizations.
  • Planning and writing industry analyses based on key TV industry events and trends.

Data visualization and communication:

  • Excel at storytelling from insights, determining the appropriate visualizations and insights for the intended audience.
  • You are excited to help with the planning, research and delivery of whitepapers, in-depth reports, thought leadership articles and blog posts.
  • Your command of the English language is very good and you have a laser sharp eye for detail when it comes to English syntax, grammar and spelling.
  • Working closely with the design team to turn new types of analyses into beautiful and insightful new visualizations, infographics and videographics.

  • A deep commitment to building a comprehensive evidence base, from both first party demand data and third party data, and to use this to tell a truly compelling global narrative about the exciting relationship between content producers and consumers.
  • A passion to uncover global tv, movie and talent trends and insights, to invigorate the industry with groundbreaking research, and to tell new global audience stories that have never been told before.
  • You really do care a lot about numerical detail, data accuracy, data reliability and always supplying data along with caveats, scope definitions, proper context and thoughtful explanations.

Customer service mentality:

  • You will be working closely with marketing insights, press and strategy team members based in Los Angeles, New York and Auckland (New Zealand), to provide data extracts, analyses and insights that create value for journalists and the industry at large.
  • You are comfortable working with customers and partners to help educate the industry on content analytics including joint industry-level research papers or case studies, joint research presentations and joint industry workshops.
  • You are ready to engage and consult with members of the global entertainment press.
