We are looking for a graduate statistician or mathematician with a strong interest in statistics to join a consultancy business based in central Edinburgh. Working under the direction of an experienced statistician the job holder will be required to assist with all aspects of the consultancy work. This post carries with it the opportunity in time to move into a senior role.
Requirements
- Degree in mathematics, statistics or equivalent
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Experience in R
- Ability to work independently (under supervision)
- Ability to recognise when to ask for help
- Ability to apply statistical principles to novel situations
Responsibilities
- Assist senior statisticians with
- preparation of statistical analysis plans and reports
- statistical analysis of data
- research into methodology development for internal use and sometimes for publication
Additional Information
Quantics Biostatistics was established in 2002. We have five experienced statisticians and are looking for graduates to support them as we move to a partnership style of business.
We work with clients across the UK and internationally to provide statistical consultancy in the life sciences. This role will provide the job holder with broad experience of biostatistical methods, and work in a consultancy. There may be opportunities to develop skills in C++ and SAS, as well as R, depending on project requirements. In addition the job holder will learn about working in accordance with regulatory guidelines such as GLP, GCP, GMP, and ISO9001 (Quantics is the only UK statistical consultancy with GLP and ISO9001 quality accreditation).
Office based, full time 37.5 hour week, 40 days holiday (including statutory days), pension plus other benefits. The post is permanent with a 3 month probation period. Salary: up to £35k depending on qualifications and experience.
