The primary function of this post is to analyse data, support the development of new tools for data collection/analysis/dissemination, and more broadly support the monitoring of, and reporting on, the situation of children and women related to child mortality.
To qualify
- An advanced university degree (Master’s) or higher in Statistics, Demography, or a directly-related technical field.
- A minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience, at the national and international levels, in demography and specifically child mortality estimation and demographic modeling is required.
- Strong statistical and analytical skills and profession experience in data analysis is required.
- Prior experience and advanced skills in statistical programming, specifically R programming is required.
- Experience in the analysis of household survey data, including data from Multiple Indicator Cluster Surveys (MICS) and the Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS) is desired.
- Prior in the analysis of data obtained from population census and from administrative records is highly asset.
- Fluency in English (verbal and written) is required. Knowledge of an additional UN Language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) is considered an asset.
